MECCA launched in Brussels
On the 5th and 6th of November AXIS project PIs met in Brussels to present their respective projects and find synergies for potential future collaboration and cooperation.
The MECCA project, or Targeting Mental Models of Climate Change Risk to facilitate Climate Action aims to identify adaptation and mitigation strategies by analyzing the gap between stakeholder’s perceptions of change and risk and projected impacts of human activities under changing climatic conditions in East Africa (Lake Victoria) and West Africa (Lagos).
Dr. Stefan Liersch (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research) and Dr. Karlijn van den Broek (Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University) presented the MECCA project for the first time and received a positive response from other participants.
Presenting a novel tool on stakeholder engagement
Karlijn was asked to chair a session on stakeholder engagement, where she presented a novel tool she has developed for this purpose.
Stay tuned for more MECCA updates.
